After plugging in the car

Cause of error 1
State B: Car connected, but not yet ready for charging.

Action 
Check your car’s settings. For example, locked doors, P-mode, etc.

Cause of error 2
State C: Car connected and ready for charging, but charging station requires authorization to start charging (Free Charging is set to “OFF”).

Action 

  • Swipe a valid RFID tag/card in front of the RFID reader, or start charging from the backend
  • If the charger is to operate without RFID, ask the operator to set the charger to Free Charging = On

If you have tested everything and nothing works, contact GARO support (Do not forget the M number).

Always

Cause
The charger is ready for charging.

When the car is plugged in

Cause of error
The charging station detects that the cable is connected, but has not yet interpreted the vehicle.

Action 
Connect vehicles to the charging cable.

Anytime during charging

The car is connected

Cause of error
Alt 1: Charges (state C)
Alt 2: Charging paused (state B)

Action
No fault.

Anytime during charging

Cause of error
Socket reserved for a specific user. 

Action
No fault (contact operator).

When charging

Cause of error 1
DC error - Also indicated by orange “Alarm” LED on the controller.
Action 
When car is connected: Unplug the charging cable from the charging station and the station should turn green. Reconnect charging cable to start charging again. Charging will restart automatically after 15 minutes if the cable is not disconnected manually.

Cause of error 2
Motor lock was unlocked during charging (charging cable can be disconnected).

Action 
Check the motor lock cabling for damage and that the locking arm is not stuck in, for example, cabling.
If you find none of these faults, the socket needs to be replaced, return via your wholesaler and do not forget to include your case no.

When you connect the car

Cause of error 1
Socket cannot lock the charging cable.
Action

  • Check that the charging cable is firmly inserted into the socket.
  • Make sure nothing is blocking the path into the socket. The rubber seal can become detach from the socket and be pushed into the bottom - remove this and discard (do not attempt to refit this gasket).
  • Check that the motor lock is correctly mounted on the socket and is not damaged.

 

Cause of error 2
Faulty charging cable.

Action

  • Make sure the charging cable is not damaged. Try charging with another charging cable.
  • Check the CP/PP cables between the socket/plug and the control card to ensure there’s no play or that they do not come loose.
  • Check the earthing of the charging station.

Anytime during charging

Cause of error
RCD tripped.

Action 1
Reset RCD. 
Action 2
Check that the 8-pin quick coupling on the underside of the controller is securely in place and has not become loose.

Action 3
Check earthing in the property and the phases.

When you swipe the RFID tag/card

Cause of error
RFID card not valid. 

Action 1
Check that the RFID card is approved by the operator (Contact the backend operator).

Action 2
Check that the RFID card is inserted into the charger’s internal memory (Requires a technician).

Anytime during charging

Always

Cause of error
The charging station checks the RFID tag with the backend operator.

Action
No fault.

The charger is black but the meter is running

Cause of error
Intermediate card does not receive power (Red LED on the card does not flash). Quick connection to the intermediate card not properly connected.

Action
Check quick connector and reconnect if necessary. The top two ports on the quick connector feed the card and should have voltage 220 V AC. If voltage exists but the card is dead; change the intermediate card.

The entire charger including the meter is black

Cause of error
Tripped fuse in the power supply.

Action
Reset the fuse in the supply’s distribution box.
